My husband and I have a small pawn shop in northern Arkansas, he saw Labtrade's article in National Pawnbroker's magazine. He approached me with the idea of sending off several of our better pieces. I was dead set against the idea. People I didn't know would be handling priceless pieces of jewelry. Needless to say, I gave in and have never been more pleased. You actually talk to a living breathing person, NO RECORDINGS OR PRESS 1 FOR NEXT OPERATOR! Our inventory in actuality was only gone about 5 business days. They were true to their word, my jewelry was returned polished in boxes with individual appraisals. I was very surprised with some of my pieces they were valued more than I would have imaged. I started with the LGL 20/20 program a few months ago, and I can't tell you enough how pleased I am with the results! The new appraisels were an instant hit with our customers, and helped give my sales people the confidence they needed to sell gemstones as gemstones, and diamonds as diamonds. And as I'm sure as others have found out, with the higher retails that we got on just one ring paid for the appraisels on the entire lot! I was referred to LGL by a friend of mine, so I decided to try them out. I thought that having an independant valuation of selected items would show my customers what a bargain my prices were. What I did not expect was for me to find a "sleeper". I sent LGL a colored stone ring that we had priced for $169. It was pretty, but we thought that it was a synthetic. As a neophyte to the gemstone appraisal world, my quest for knowlege began at a nationally known bookstore chain, hoping to find GemStone Appraisal For Dummies, but instead led me to he LGL website among others. I was skeptical at first how the other sites charged on average $400 per piece and LG $35, but after receiving my 3.5ct Sapphire ring back today safe and sound with the professionally laminated , easily understandable desciption and value (for this novice!), I am so sold on this company that I am sending my Emerald ring tomorrow! Dear LabTrade Personnel, This is a note of appreciation thanking you for your services. I am compelled to tell you that your appraisal service SAVED me about $ 10,000. For several years I have been doing business with a supplier and have become comfortable with the goods provided to me. I used to make it a practice of carefully examining what had been sent to me.....until I bought a parcel of ruby from this same supplier. For some reason I let careful inspection slide past me on this one occasion when I bought this parcel. Ruby is a gem that I rarely buy but because of my previous purchase experience with this supplier I let careful inspection slide past me when acquiring this parcel. After receiving these gems I sent a few stones to your lab for inspection and appraisal only to discover that this very reputable company had sold me well-crafted synthetics which appeared to me as middle line goods. Once learning this I contacted the owner of the company immediately to inform him of the situation and to have it corrected. I do believe his response was sincere when he stated that he did not know the gems were synthetic and that the cutting house overseas had duped him.
